Support Worker with AIDS Trust Cymru 24/06/10

Support Worker, 30 hours per week, pro rata of £22,221 per annum.

AIDS Trust Cymru is a registered charity that works towards achieving the following aims for people living with HIV in Wales;

  • To improve the quality of housing
  • To enable people living with HIV to have the knowledge and opportunities to improve and manage their health
  • To empower people living with HIV to develop the skills to live as independently as possible
  • To promote equality of access to services
  • To maximise incomes and reduce poverty
  • To challenge discrimination and reduce stigma
  • To reduce social isolation and exclusion
  • To promote an understanding and awareness of the problems and difficulties faced by people living with HIV

AIDS Trust Cymru is recruiting for a Support Worker to provide support for HIV positive people living in Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.

The successful candidate will be responsible for helping to develop the service, as well as providing support and advice for people living with HIV / AIDS.

This is a new post, with temporary funding from Supporting People Pembrokeshire and Supporting People Ceredigion, until 8th August 2011. The success of the project will be reviewed after a year and further funding may be awarded based on the outcome of the review.
