Creative Industries Board: Appointment of Chair and 4 Members

The Chair will receive remuneration of £337 a day.

All other members will receive remuneration of £282 per day.

The Welsh Assembly Government wishes to appoint a Creative Industries Board. This is in response to recommendations made within ‘The Heart of Digital Wales: a review of creative industries for the Welsh Assembly Government’ by Professor Ian Hargreaves. Ministers have identified a number of urgent actions designed to boost the performance of Wales’ creative economy.

The Board will:

  • Work to Ministerial policy in seeking to ensure that appropriate strategies are devised to improve the performance of Wales’ creative industries sector.
  • Monitor the impact of all Welsh Assembly Government’s creative industries activity, including but not limited to, business support, international export, regeneration and the functioning of the sector spokes.
  • Provide to Ministers a regular and clear account of the progress of policy towards creative industries.
  • Stay abreast of policy approaches to creative industries in other parts of the UK and beyond in order to learn from those and evaluate Wales’ relative performance against competitors.

The closing date for receipt of applications is July 15th 2010.

It is expected to hold interviews during September 2010.
