Appointments to Community Health Councils 22/07/10
Posted on Monday, July 5, 2010
Would you like to make a positive difference to health services and to people’s lives?
The Welsh Assembly Government is seeking to appoint further volunteer members to most Community Health Councils (CHCs) across Wales (except in the Swansea, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend areas, where there are currently no vacancies).
CHCs are the public’s independent ‘watchdog’ in the National Health Service in Wales. They represent the public interest and play an important role in influencing the way that health services are planned, delivered and improved.
CHC members are volunteers and their role is to act as the eyes and ears of patients and the public, listening to their concerns and working with the health service to improve the quality of patient care.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 22 July 2010.
Interviews are currently expected to be held in the week beginning 6 September 2010 at locations across Wales.
