Brynaman Swimming Pool Committee

Brynaman pool has been closed for four years after being open since the 1930’s. The committee wish to re-open the lido. They have developed a business plan outlining the proposed re-opening of the historical Brynaman Lido over the past few months. This involves green energy solutions for heating the pool and a relationship with Art and Nature design and uses.

The existing committee are seeking the following experienced volunteers:

Chair – to steer the aim and objectives of the organisation into actuality, keeping a positive and achievable set of goals. Maintaining a democratic and inclusive committee structure.  To chair meetings effectively in line with the Agenda and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to be heard.  To be able to communicate positively and effectively with committee members, partners and members of the public.

Secretary  – to plan and organise meetings in conjunction with the Chair and to ensure committee members are informed of the meetings as required, to circulate the Agenda, to keep minutes,  schedules and a list of all members.  . To be able to communicate positively and effectively both verbally and in writing with committee members, partners and members of the public. 

Treasurer – to be responsible for and to oversee the basic accounting and book keeping requirements of the organisation. To be able to project the future income and expenditure of the organisation and to be able to feed back and communicate these to the committee as well as funders and other partners.  To be able to prepare an end-of-year balance sheet in line with need and in line with stakeholder requirements if applicable.  To be able to communicate positively and effectively with committee members, partners and members of the public.

We are looking for those who have the relevant skills, knowledge and expertise to progress this project into fruition and who have the time and commitment to do this.  Candidates much show an ability to work as part of a team, be open to new and innovative ideas and to show confidence in their given role and in the success of this community project.
