C3 Carbon Capture Cymru help for community groups

Posted on Monday, November 30, 2009

c3-logoCarbon Capture Cymru (C3) is being launched to help community organisations in Wales save money on their fuel bills, generate an income through renewable energy generation, and tackle climate change.

C3 is looking to support a wide range of community initiatives on climate change by securing donations and investments from individuals and corporate bodies to provide a not for profit fund of accessible loans and small grants for the sector.

As a small programme we are looking to involve all those who may have a role to play especially those with technical skills and experience of setting up community energy saving/ generating projects and community groups who would be interested in providing peer-to-peer support.

As an organisation which provides support to community organisations we would be grateful if you could:

  • Communicate the programme to your members
  • Let us know what role you might wish to play in the delivery of programme.

In order to produce a portfolio for potential donors or investors we are looking to collect a range of case studies and expressions of interest from community organisations that are, or are looking to, reduce their greenhouse gas emissions through realising energy efficiency measures, renewable energy generation and land management projects for carbon conservation or sequestration.

If your contacts and/or members are interested and would be happy to be considered as an exemplar project then please ask them to complete the case study pro-forma linked below. If they would be interested in the programme moving forwards please could you also ask them to complete the expression of interest pro-forma.
