Who is it aimed at?
Practitioners working with young people. Those working within preventative roles/services
What are the objectives?
Delegates will be able to –
- Identify risk factors and developing mental health issues – depression, thoughts of suicide, anxiety, psychosis, eating disorders and self-harming behaviours
- Support individuals and families to maintain good mental health and seek appropriate help
- Take appropriate action in a crisis situation to keep a person safe from immediate risk of harm and suicide
How will it make a difference?
Practitioners will have increased confidence to discuss mental health issues with families and children/young people. They will be able to identify emerging/developing issues and address them more quickly, leading to better outcomes and better recovery.
It will support the prevention of mental health issues becoming a crisis and will promote good mental health within families.
