Who is it aimed at? | ||
HEALTH AND SOCIAL CARE PRACTITIONERS – This course has been developed to support professionals working with children with an autistic spectrum disorder. Based on the identified needs of professionals in Wales, and recommendations from the National Institute of Care and Excellence (NICE), this learning tool provides a useful introduction, and should be used as a precursor to more in depth training. | ||
What are the objectives? | ||
· This session aims to improve the knowledge and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
· This session aims to provide practitioners with advice about how to adapt their interactions and practice. · This session aims to provide practical ideas and introduce resources which may be useful when supporting children with an ASD · To complete a certification scheme, successful completion of these will prompt download of a certificate |

How will it make a difference? | ||
· It will improve the knowledge and understanding of ASD of the Social care workforce.
· It will ensure that the workforce are aware of the resources available for professionals when working with children with an ASD and parents and carers of children with an ASD. |
