Christmas Toybox Appeal
Did you know there are hundreds of Carmarthenshire families that are in desperate need of help this Christmas?
Founded in 2011, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Christmas Toybox Appeal is a local initiative which provides Christmas gifts for families in need. Many can’t afford to buy food, gifts, or toys for their children, and will go to loan sharks in desperation.
Last year, you helped us provide over 3000 gifts … and it would not have been possible without YOUR support.
This year during these difficult economic times we rely on your support more than ever. We need your kindness, generosity, and joy once again, as we launch 2018 Christmas Toybox Appeal. We are looking forward and anticipate your help once again this year.
Last year the Christmas Toybox Appeal collected and distributed over 3000 gifts, benefitting disadvantaged families across Carmarthenshire. The Christmas Toybox Appeal has ensured that local children, who might otherwise receive nothing or very little, are given a gift at Christmas. Last year families received a Christmas present because of the incredible work of Christmas Toybox Appeal volunteer workers and donors.
When you’re out and about doing your Christmas shopping this year, please spare a thought for those less fortunate families, and purchase an extra present to donate to the Christmas Toybox Appeal. Every gift donated will make a difference for those families for which otherwise Christmas would otherwise be just another day!
What kind of gifts we are looking for?
We are looking at gifts for all ages; babies from 18 months up to teenagers. We would appreciate if you do not wrap your donated gifts for they will be allocated by the team of volunteers who work alongside the families.
Please feel free to donate gift wrap, scissors and sellotape for the volunteers.
Please donate your gift by December 1st – a list of collection points is available here or by phoning 01267 246657
