Background
Over the course of the past year the Minister for Health and Social Services has given serious and extensive thought to the future arrangements for Community Health Councils (CHCs) in Wales. She has been keen to ensure that CHCs will be placed in the best possible position to represent public and patient interests in the NHS and that the best possible use of available resources is made. The Minister has conducted two public consultations and has invited the CHCs themselves to submit their own proposals for future joint-working arrangements.
Details of the previous consultations and of the CHCs’ own proposals can be accessed via the related links on the right hand side of the page.
Having considered all of the evidence presented, the Minister would now like to put before you her intentions for the way forward.
