Fairtrade Fortnight Competition

Posted on Wednesday, December 10, 2008

This year is our first year as a Fair Trade Country. We want to celebrate and shout about our achievement and let everyone know that Wales leads the way in Fair Trade. But to do this we need your help…

Do you have a brilliant idea for raising awareness and getting great publicity for Fair Trade? If it is original, attention grabbing or involves lots of people then we want to hear about it!

We are offering three prizes to the best Fairtrade Fortnight ideas. The prize money is on offer to help turn your ideas into a reality.

The competition is open to any Fair Trade groups in Wales. The prize money is to enable to the group to turn their brilliant idea into a reality and should only be used for this purpose.

To apply download and fill in the below form and return to kate@fairtradewales.com or post to:

Fair Trade Wales, c/o Oxfam Cymru, 5-7 Market Buildings St Mary’s St, Cardiff, CF10 1AT.

Please feel free to ring or email for an informal chat about your ideas or if you have any questions.

The deadline is 21st December and winners will be notified by 4th January.

Cheques will be sent by Friday 11th January. A small panel made up of the staff of Fair Trade Wales will judge the competition. The competition will be judged by the ideas that are the most original and will have the biggest impact. Advice will be given to those groups that didn’t win this year on other sources of funding for their idea.

Fair Trade Wales would like to thank Global Connections for the money that has meant we can run the competition. Global Connections, who have now folded, donated money to Fair Trade Wales to help support Fairtrade Fortnight activities.
