WCVA is working closely with the Institute of Fundraising (IoF) to make IoF Academy training and qualifications accessible to third sector organisations in Wales.

Tuesday 11 June – Friday 14 June 2013, Cardiff

The Institue of fundraising qualifications

The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) is the professional membership body for fundraising in the UK. The IoF supports fundraisers through leadership, representation, standards-setting and education. It also champions and promotes fundraising as a career choice.

At WCVA, we are working closely with the IoF to make IoF Academy training and qualifications accessible to third sector organisations in Wales.

Are you in a fundraising role and want to consolidate your skills and develop as a fundraising professional? The Certificate in Fundraising gives front-line fundraisers a solid grounding in the theoretical concepts and principles behind fundraising, helping you to be the best you can be.

To gain the qualification you need to attend four consecutive days of intensive training, and successfully complete a series of four work based and case study assignments over a period of approximately nine months.

Fees:

£1,485 for IoF individual members

£1,584* for non IoF individual members who are WCVA members

£1,600* for individuals that are not members of either the IoF or WCVA

*If you are not yet an individual IoF member your first year’s membership is included with the non-member rates. This gives access to a range of benefits which should assist your studies and wider professional development. You must hold a valid IoF individual membership while studying for a qualification.

As an additional benefit for WCVA members signing-up to this course we have negotiated a discounted individual IoF membership rate of £99** for the first year of IoF membership.

To find out more about the course and to book your place, follow this link to the IoF’s website.

** Standard IoF individual membership £121 (including the joining fee)

Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services is now a subsidiary of Hafan Cymru.

Hafan Cymru and Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services (formerly Carmarthen Womens Aid) are delighted to announce a closer collaboration. Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services is now a subsidiary of Hafan Cymru.

Challenging times require organisations to rethink both their partnerships and the way they work with others across a wide spectrum. Having considered options for the future of both organisations, Hafan Cymru and Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services have decided to form a partnership with the aim of ensuring the sustainability and best quality of the services they provide.

Nikki Warrington, Director of Quality Assurance and Performance at Hafan Cymru said:

“Hafan Cymru has always been keen to work closely with others. We know this can provide the necessary added value to enable our service users to achieve their own potential and help us as an organisation strive further towards excellence. Hafan Cymru and Carmarthen Domestic Abuse Services will work closely together to tackle domestic abuse, homelessness, and worklessness in the county.”

The Manager of CDAS, Ruth Graham said:

“We are thrilled to be a part of this exciting move forward and it makes complete sense for the organisation and our service users to formalise our existing working relationship in this way. Our Service Users throughout Carmarthen will benefit from us being able to provide a seamless service when they turn to either organisation for support.”

Cathy Davies, Chief Executive of Hafan Cymru added:

“I am personally delighted as this closes a circle for me from my beginnings in domestic abuse services, running the Carmarthen refuge for Carmarthen Women’s Aid to now being able to work with them again in a new, collaborative way.”
