GamCare Training: Women and problem gambling
Supporting women who are affected by gambling related harm.
GamCare are now offering online versions of our training on the topic of ‘Women and Problem Gambling’.
Below are 6 sessions planned for July which you can book on at Eventbrite. A Zoom link to the session will be sent separately once you have registered on Eventbrite.
The subject of gambling and its associated harms is currently a hot topic and is acknowledged by health experts as a serious addiction with far reaching negative consequences. It negatively affects finances, mental health, and relationships, not just for the gambler but for the those around them.
The issue of women who are affected by gambling related harms is perceived as a hidden problem, and by raising awareness of the issue, we are confident that we can make it more identifiable for people who support women.
The training aims to raise awareness of the subject of women and problem gambling, and enables workers to confidently recognise, respond and refer women who are affected by gambling related harms into our support services.
