Posted on Friday, October 23, 2009

The Giving Sir Gâr Grant Scheme 2009 is now open for applications!

gsg_200The Giving Sir Gâr Fund has been developed in Carmarthenshire from the Welsh Assembly Government’s Corporate Challenge Programme which aims to develop and enhance the relationships between businesses and other employers for the benefit of the voluntary sector.

This support is achieved through a number of activities and this grant pot has been developed through Payroll Giving schemes and corporate donations from local businesses.

This grant scheme intends to provide a new local funding opportunity for charities, voluntary and community groups in Carmarthenshire to develop and sustain their activities particularly through activities such as:

  • Developing their links with business
  • Developing partnerships with other organisations
  • Promoting the work of their group to the wider community
  • Increasing the involvement of volunteers

Groups can apply for grants of up to £500 for both revenue and capital costs and the closing date for applications is Thursday 3rd December 2009 – any received after this date will not be considered by the grants panel.
