Help for older people getting rid of glass over and after Christmas

Please remember that if you have older clients who are finding it difficult to get rid of their glass or who are mistakenly putting it into black or blue bin bags over Christmas then Age Cymru Sir Gar/Menter Cwm Gwendraeth can help.

We have volunteers who can do one-off visits or regular visits to help people aged 50+ who have difficulty getting to a bottle bank or civic amenity site to get rid of their glass. For older people Christmas is often a time when families pop round to visit and glass from refreshments, food, beauty products etc piles up. It’s often a problem getting rid of them if you can’t get to the bottle bank after the visitors have gone.

When volunteers visit a client they often end up doing other jobs such as mowing the lawn or sitting and having a chat or signposting them to Age Cymru Sir Gâr’s information & advice or welfare benefits service.
