KITe: Keep in touch – Digital Skills for older people
Connect, communicate and keep up to date with friends, family, community, the world.
KITe is currently funded by a Discovery Grant from the Santander Foundation. We are running Free short beginners computer and tablet courses for older people, aimed at building people’s confidence in Basic Computer skills, Browsing the Internet, Using Email etc.
The courses are held in the training room at CAVS and are open to anyone aged 50+.
KITe first started as a 3 year project in September 2012 run by CAVS with funding from Comic Relief’s Older Person Programme.
The aim of the project was to support older people throughout Carmarthenshire to become included and active in today’s increasingly digital world. The project offered training, advice and guidance to older people through digital media clubs, IT classes, workshops, work with community and social groups, one-to-one sessions etc.
