Consultation: Proposed Local Government (Wales) Measure 01/10/10

The National Assembly for Wales’ Legislation Committee No.3 is calling for evidence on the general principles of the proposed Local Government (Wales) Measure.
The aim of the Measure is to make provision to strengthen the structures and working of local government in Wales at all levels, and to ensure that local councils reach out to and engage with all sectors of the communities they serve.
The deadline for submitting evidence is 1st October 2010.
Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA) has prepared a briefing paper and will be responding on behalf of the voluntary sector. The consultation questions are contained within the briefing paper. WCVA is asking for responses by the end of August, to give them time to compile a full response before 1st October.

Responses can be submitted in various ways:
- BY 27th AUGUST 2010 to CAVS, email info@cavs.org.uk, phone 01267 245555. Responses from Carmarthenshire will be collated and forwarded to WCVA, or
- BY 31st AUGUST 2010 Directly to WCVA, Jen Bradbury, Senior Policy Officer, Tel 01970 631131, Fax 01970 631121, jbradbury@wcva.org.uk, www.voicesforchangecymru.org.uk, www.wcva.org.uk, or
- BY 1st OCTOBER 2010 Directly to the National Assembly for Wales. They request an electronic copy of your submission to email legislationoffice@wales.gov.uk and the email entitled ‘Consultation – Proposed Local Government Measure’.
