biz-breakfastMaking Friends and Influencing People – Third Sector ‘Business Breakfast’ and Information Event

18th August – The Halliwell Centre, Trinity College – 8am till 1pm

CAVS are organizing an unique event designed to help members of the third sector in Carmarthenshire generate new contacts, learn more about other organizations operating in the region and to link with groups which they could potentially collaborate with in future.

Collaboration is the theme of the event, a word which we’re all hearing a lot more of and, as we all know, something which all organizations, no matter how large or small, will have to think about in future.

What’s the event all about?

The event is intended to be a friendly, informal day which allows members of the third sector to learn more about what other organizations can offer within the county, to promote their own work and to learn form some brief presentations about the importance of collaboration when contracting with large organizations such as the Hywel Dda Health Board, the Welsh Assembly Government and Carmarthenshire County Council.

What is the ‘Business Breakfast’?

This is an excellent opportunity for you to tell other members of the sector about your organisation (each participant will be asked to give a very brief snapshot of what their organisation does – 30 seconds max), to take part in some lighthearted exercises to meet other members of the sector and learn more about potential collaboration and perhaps most importantly, enjoy a good breakfast!

What’s happening for the rest of the morning?

This will be a selection of presentations and exercises with the aim of informing you about the potential benefits of collaboration.

These will be a mix of presentations from our colleagues in the public sector about the direction that their purchasing and contracting policies will take over the next few years, but also of key interest will be some presentations from members of the third sector who have already collaborated to gain contracts, with their reflections on the benefits but also negatives and lessons learnt being of real interest to potential collaborators.

Is there a cost?

You’ll be glad to hear that the event is free of charge. The Welsh Assembly Government have kindly agreed to fund the event through their Supplier Development Service.

It sounds great, do I have to book my place?

Yes please, so that we can properly plan the room and catering and send you any relevant information prior to the event. There’s a simple online form which you need to complete at the bottom of this page to book your place.

Do I have to attend the whole event?

We’d really recommend it for you to gain a full picture of all that’s going on. Of course you’re free to leave or join us at any time, but as always, please let us know in advance when you’re planning to attend so that we can organize the catering etc.
