Mynydd i’r Mor—Mountains to the Sea

Mynydd i’r Mor—Mountains to the Sea

Join Us On An Adventure!

In September a group of intrepid explorers are travelling from one end of the River Teifi high in the Cambrian Mountains all the way down to Poppit Sands and the Irish Sea.

The trip will take five days (26-30th September), the first being on foot and the rest on the water under the leadership of the Llandysul Paddlers.

There will be a small group on the water on days 2-4 with a larger group, forming a flotilla from Cardigan and on the way down to the sea.

The reason for the trip is to get to know the river and have fun, and also to raise awareness of the DPJ Foundation* and their 24hour emergency phone line; supporting people in the rural community who are experiencing poor mental health.

The project is designed to enable everyone to get involved, both on the water and in a supporting capacity. We are working with communities along the river to raise the profile of the DPJ Foundation and the local support available for each community.

You can find out more about this project on our Facebook page: ‘Mynydd I’r Mor/Mountains to the Sea’, https://en-gb.facebook.com/MiMteifi/ or by calling us on 01239 841236.

Who is involved?

This is an Awards for All funded, community focussed project initially led by Clynfyw Care Farm, HUTS, WWAMH, PCNPA, Llandysul Paddlers, Area 43 and the DPJ Foundation.

Supported organisations include YFCs of Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire, Daioni, Cambrian News, Reconnect, Workways+, CCF, 4CG, Cardigan Health Centre, Ysgol Gyfun Emlyn, RABI, Teifi Trout Association, Tregaron Angling Association, Llandysul Angling Association, Pembrokeshire On-Line, Agri-trader, Compassionate Communities, West Wales Domestic Abuse Agency, HDUHB, NFU Mutual, Pembrokeshire People First… and there are more coming on board all the time.

The number and variety of interested groups and individuals demonstrates the interest and support in this project and the need for work of the DPJ Foundation to support the rural community.
