Carers Service
What we do
Carmarthenshire Carers Service is affiliated with the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, and produces and distributes carers information, signposts people who are caring to sources of help and support through a telephone service, and facilitates the Carers Alliance. It is through the Carers Alliance that carers are encouraged to participate in the planning, development and review of services.
The Carers Service works closely with the Joint Carers Development Officer.

Carmarthenshire Carers Alliance
Carmarthenshire Carers Alliance is an informal network of voluntary groups, organisations and individual carers. It works to promote the recognition of carers in Carmarthenshire, and seeks to influence the planning, commissioning and development of services for carers.
We meet at least four times a year for regular business and host an annual Carers’ Rights Day event and hold events during Carers Week.
If you are a carer, or have recently been caring for someone, and would like to join the Alliance, you would be very welcome. You would be offered support to attend meetings.
For more information please contact the Carers Service on 0300 0200 002 or email carers@cavs.org.uk.

- Increase older carers take-up of Pension Credit
The Carers Alliance also welcomes the day as an opportunity to let carers know what support is already available in Carmarthenshire; to look at service developments; to ask carers what they think of the services they are receiving and ask what else they think should be available.
Carers Rights Day is held every December.
