The Wales Co-operative Centre is looking for a talented individual to join the Communities 2.0 programme – a digital inclusion and enterprise initiative which is being run in partnership with a number of public, voluntary and higher education sector organisations.
The Regional Broker/Circuit Rider will be responsible for developing digital inclusion initiatives, identifying opportunities for economic activity, and the co-ordination of regional project activity in South West Wales.
The successful candidate will have strong digital and IT skills and need to demonstrate experience of working with community and voluntary sector organisations to allow them to maximise their use of ICT, both operationally and strategically.
Duties & Responsibilities
· To help clients in identifying the support they require by undertaking a needs assessment process.
· To recommend a package of support for client organisations and to co-ordinate the implementation of this support.
· To implement and deliver agreed work plans directly related to the Communities 2.0 project activities and targets.
· To visit voluntary and community groups in West Wales and to assess their current and future needs over a wide range of technical ICT related infrastructure and/or strategic initiatives.
· To support clients with developing basic internal organisational business systems and data storage involved with external communications e.g. databases.
· To develop basic ICT strategies/plans with the groups and assist them with budgeting and implementation.
· To research, pilot and document appropriate new technologies and disseminate via practical workshops and online information.
· To work with the groups, and team members where appropriate, to carry out ICT Health Reviews and to develop an appropriate Action Plan to take forward their use of ICT
· To support clients in adopting or improving diversity and equality strategies.
· To build and manage in a positive way professional relationships with partners and stakeholders.
· To maintain and update all relevant databases in accordance with the needs of the project
· To maintain proper records of activity and produce reports on activity as required
· To support monitoring activities as required.
· To regularly attend and contribute to team meetings and contribute to team activities.
· To work with the marketing officers to help raise awareness of the project and identify new clients and beneficiaries.
· To promote the Wales Co-operative Centre activities and services internally and externally encouraging internal cross-project working at all times.
· To undertake any other duties falling within the scope of the post.
