The Start Wales Festival 7-8 September, A Garden Party to Make a Difference

Start is a new initiative to help people across the UK lead more sustainable lives and to show what a more energy efficient, cleaner and healthier future could look like.
The Start Festival will feature presentations and exhibits on the simple steps we can all take to make better use of our natural resources – energy, food, transport, buildings, waste – at home and in our workplaces. Start is a national initiative by The Prince’s Charities Foundation to promote and celebrate sustainable living.The Start Wales Festival will feature as part of The Prince of Wales’ UK Start Tour www.startuk.org.
The Festival programme will include:
- The launch of The Prince’s Regeneration Trust’s Green Guide.
- Launch of Low Carbon South West Wales – the low carbon region plan for South West Wales.
- Launch of The Size of Wales – an initiative to sustain an area of rain forest the Size of Wales.
- Paul Twivy – the Chief Executive of the Big Society Network.
- A feature on Carmarthenshire – a Sustainable County – involving local communities and organised through the local authority.
Presentations and exhibits from: Start sponsor companies and partners, Prince of Wales Innovation Scholars, Eco schools, Transition Towns, Eco Design Centre, Low Carbon Research Institute Wales, Green Automotive Forum, Renewable Energy technologies, local food producers, Future Skills.
