Deadline date: 05.10.09

The Cyrenians Supported Employment Agency will offer severely excluded and disadvantaged adults in the Swansea Bay area structured support towards and into employment. During the term of the contract it is required that 718 people will have gained employment as a result of accessing employment based support, including work experience, work trials and apprenticeships.

Because of existing relationships with the target group(s) in the area of benefit, the Supported Employment Agency service will delivered from the Sponsor’s premises. Since there will be no break in service delivery in respect of existing staff, TUPE arrangements will apply.

Deadline date: 05.10.09

The following four programmes of training are targeted at adults who are furthest away from the labour market as a result of long periods of unsettled living and/or significant support needs:

• Life Skills, ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages), creative industries, ICT and vocational training;

• Training in environmental recycling, social enterprise and work related skills focused on craft development, restoration, joinery and boat building and repair;

• Training in overcoming barriers to employment including life-skills to assist progress to work – including overcoming health barriers, cookery training, food hygiene, rural skills and social enterprise development;

• Training in all aspects of retail, as well as providing participants with work experience. The deliverer will be expected to build up partnerships with private sector retail organizations to maximize chances for moving into work.

Because of existing relationships with the target group(s) in the area of benefit it is expected that the training and support will be provided at the Sponsor’s premises. Since there will be no break in service delivery in respect of existing staff, TUPE arrangements will apply. Further, due to the nature of the target group(s) the following will be required of all delivery staff: statutory standards for the Protection of Vulnerable Adults; and Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Checks.
