Independent Review of Determinations for Fostering and Adoption

Description of contract
The Welsh Assembly Government has operated the IRD for Adoption since 2005. In that time we have had or are about to hold a total of 6 IRD hearings regarding propsective adopters. There have been no requests for an IRD for disclosure of information. There is no data available for IRD’s for prospective foster carers or those who have been taken off the approved list of foster carers.
The contract will involve convening panels to review determinations, this will include holding a central panel of people qualified to sit on such panels, organise relevant training of panel members. Collecting and sending out the relevant information for panel members. Providing management information for the Welsh Assembly Government on panels held etc.
