Posted on Tuesday, June 8, 2010
Deadline Date – 15 June 2010
Wild Fishing Wales is an Environment Agency Wales (EAW) lead, £2.6million project which aims to enhance river and still water habitats and improve angler access to a network of fisheries throughout the Convergence Area of Wales.
The objective of the Wild Fishing Wales Project is to help fisheries, angling clubs, landowners, rivers trusts and other interested parties all to deliver these access and habitat improvement projects on their waters.
Environment Agency Wales will be seeking reliable partners who can deliver these projects at their sites which must include both habitat and access components, for example:
- Access Improvements by constructing paths, car parks and ramps so that the fishing beat is more accessible to anglers; and
- Habitat improvements by constructing fencing, buffer strips and addressing water quality so that the fishing beat is ecologically sustainable.
Funding will be made available for 80 per cent of project costs, with delivery partners expected to contribute the remaining 20 per cent, including up to 10 per cent in kind.
