To be great in this job you must be able to use your existing welfare benefits professional experience to get the best outcome for your clients.

You’ll need to be highly organised in managing a caseload effectively and passionate about supporting cancer patients and their loved ones. In return, the role will give you the opportunity to improve the lives of people affected by cancer. To be considered for this job your CV should show that you have:

  • Previous experience in a welfare benefits advisor or equivalent role
  • Practical experience of leasing and negotiating with the DWP/HRMC/Local Authorities and so forth
  • Experience of training and mentoring others
  • Demonstrable experience of growing a service
  • Continuous updated knowledge & ability to reference UK Government legislation & policy development
  • Careful driver with access to own transport

What’s it all about?

The Cancer Support Advisor will help support the Research and Support Team by managing their own caseload. The role will also include delivering an outreach advisory service for welfare benefits and other entitlements to people with a cancer diagnosis and their families across the West Wales area. The Cancer Support Advisor will work closely with all departments at Tenovus Cancer Care and play a key part in the Research and Support team helping those affected by cancer.
