Tywi a River Through Time ~ Volunteering opportunities
What is ‘Tywi a River Through Time’?
Tywi a River Through Time is a project aimed at encouraging the people that live in and visit the beautiful Tywi Valley to learn more about the landscape and its history. The project area is focused on the middle reaches of the Tywi River, between Llangadog and Dryslwyn.
Many activities are planned over the next few years to inspire and enthuse all ages and interests: reviving the storytelling traditions, uncovering the history of buildings, learning about the range of wild life that can be found in the area, and opening up footpaths in the region.
Tywi a River Through time is a project led by Carmarthenshire County Council. The project received £1.5 million from the Heritage Lottery Fund, £557,378 from the Rural Development Plan and support from the Countryside Council for Wales and the National Trust.
