Violence Against Women, Domestic Abuse And Sexual Violence (VAWDASV ) 2020-21 Capital Application – Open
The VAWDASV Capital Grant supports capital projects relating to violence against women, domestic abuse and sexual violence (VAWDASV). This includes funding to statutory and voluntary organisations which is directed towards delivering the objectives of the Violence against Women, Domestic Abuse and Sexual Violence (Wales) Act 2015 (“the Act”).
This year we repurposed £200,000 of the original £969,000 to enable the VAWDASV regions to quickly allocate it on a needs-led basis to meet the immediate needs in their region to respond to the Covid-19 crisis. We also opened the capital grant for an initial bidding round for capital projects that responded to pandemic.
Capital Applications for project proposals are being invited for a share of the remaining £500,000 VAWDASV Capital Grant funding budget for 2020-21.
As with this year’s initial funding round, we have introduced a simplified process for 2020-2021 for applications under £50k. The types of projects you that may be funded include, but are not limited to:
- Target Harding equipment including to prepare for any increase in demand as restricted movements are eased;
- Refurbishment work required to both office and refuge provision
- Office furniture to allow VAWDASV organisation to return to office based work whilst adhering to social distancing measures, including
- Desk spacers; and
- Perspex screens to allow face to face counselling and support services to resume
Applications for projects over £50,000 but below £350,000 (the maximum allowable) will be required to complete the full application process.

The closing date for receipt of the (under £50,000) capital application is 9am – 10/07/20 and for (over £50,000) is 31/07/20. Electronic signed copies of the application are sufficient, hard copies are not required at this stage.
