CAVS Mobile Volunteer Bureau

Mobile Volunteer BureauThe Mobile Volunteer Bureau (MVB) is a mini-bus which has been converted into a travelling office. The mini-bus was purchased and adapted using funding received from WCVA's Volunteering Extra Grant Scheme.

The bus can be taken out on free short-term loan by voluntary organisations who are registered with Carmarthenshire volunteer bureau. The bus is mainly used to recruit volunteers, enabling groups to take their recruitment work to any corner of the county. In addition the MVB is also an effective way to publicise and promote the work of a voluntary organisation. The Bus is for use within Carmarthenshire only.

If requested, one of the volunteering officers can accompany groups to events with the MVB.

The main requirements are that drivers have to be over 25 years of age, and hold a clean driving licence, and loans can only be made on receipt of a valid cheque deposit to the value of the vehicle insurance excess of £100 (subject to change).

Organisations must hold their own adequate Public Liability Insurance to cover their staff, volunteers and visitors to the MVB. The vehicle is not suitable to transport people or equipment.
