WCVA Volunteering Conference – Volunteers in Focus 15/09/10

wcvaThe third sector is built on the remarkable efforts of its volunteers. The Volunteering Conference 2010 – titled Volunteers in focus – seeks to celebrate those who work so hard to help others, as well as explore ways for groups to develop working practices which respect and enhance the experience of volunteers.

The conference, which takes place at the Galeri, Caenarfon, on Wednesday 15 September, will feature contributions from many respected faces in the volunteering community.

Chaired by Bethan Russell Williams of Mantel Gwynedd, the day will feature a plenary session from Richard Andrews, of Corporate Instinct Ltd, called Timebanking – lessons and challenges for volunteering. There will also be a number of thought-provoking workshops, including Volunteering programmes: the two-way approach by Reverend Wynne Roberts of Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Involving volunteers through consultation and feedback from Melanie Andrews of Barnardos Cymru. There will even be a Volunteering Dragons’ Den, in which a youth panel will assess a series of volunteering opportunities.

Perhaps you run a group that hopes to attract more voluntary workers, or maybe you’re a volunteer in need of up-to-date news on the issues affecting you. Either way, the Volunteering Conference 2010 will offer you vital information and a unique opportunity for networking. It’s an invaluable event for the entire sector. Don’t miss out.
