Palliative Care & Hospices: case study
In 2010 The Wolfson Foundation Trustees awarded £125,000 to Treetops Hospice in south Derbyshire. The grant was made towards the new day care centre, a major capital appeal for the hospice enabling them to provide therapy areas, bereavement support rooms and space for all clinical services.
The expansion of services allows the Community and Day Care services team to help 70% of people within the catchment area with life limiting diseases to die at home as they wish. This award is an example of the Foundation’s commitment to supporting palliative care providers as they evolve and widen access to their services.
