World Hospice Day Concert ~ 10/10/09

voicesforhospicesOctober 10th is World Hospice Day when the work of hospices in many countries is recognized and celebrated. It is an annual Day and every other year an event is held called ‘Voices for Hospices’ which may take the form of music, spoken word etc.

This year, Kevin Sivyer on behalf of the Carmarthen Rotary Club, and a supporter of the Ty Cymorth Hospice Appeal, is organizing a Gymanfa Ganu / Concert in Christ Church, Carmarthen on Sat. October 10th. at 7 p.m.

Cor Seingar will be taking part as will Young Musician of the Year in the Rotary Divisional Competition, cellist Ben Tarlton.

The organist will be Dulais Rhys and members of the local community have been invited to submit their favourite hymns to the ‘Journal’ . Mrs. Eirwen Williams is to be president for the evening and Canon Aled Griffiths will introduce the hymns. Kevin Sivyer will conduct the community singing.

It should be an enjoyable evening for all those who love music and song so please come and join us to raise the roof!

Tickets cost £8 /£6 concessions and proceeds will go to the Ty Cymorth (Carmarthen and District) Hospice Appeal.
